The Bryant & Stratton (BSC) Bobcats started their season off on the road in the CCBC Dundalk Mixer. They would play the Cecil College Seahawks and the CCBC Catonsville Cardinals over the weekend.
The Bobcats were not new to the tournament as they were participants last season in which they finished 1-1. Building from their first conference championship appearance in program history, the Bobcats looked to start the year on a high note and would start the season against the Seahawks.
BSC and the Seahawks would be in a close contest of back-and-forth buckets before the Seahawks would get a slight 0-7 run to separate themselves just a little and go into halftime leading (31-37). The Bobcats would fight from behind a majority of the second half due to the lead set & would get as close as 5pts but would run out of time and take the loss (71-76).
The team was led by Kahlil Oden; 16pts, 3stl, Kimoni Small; 15pts, 6reb, and Travis Hamilton; 11pts, 6ast, 5reb.
In game 2 the Bobcats would take on the Cardinals. A contest in which again would be a close affair between the two squads. BSC would find themselves in a similar scenario from game one as a late run would create a deficit for the Bobcats at halftime (33-40). The team would again close the gap to as 6pts before time would run out and they would again take the loss (82-90).
The Bobcats were led by Kimoni Small finishing with 16 points, 6 rebounds and Cassidy Golden with 14 points 4 rebounds and a game/career-high 5 blocks.
The main president in both matchups seemed to be both opponents were able to shoot over 50% from the field whereas the Bobcats shot in the lower 43% and below in both games.
Up next for the Bobcats they will host the Guilford Tech Community College Titans on Saturday the 9th, 3pm at Atlantic Shores Christian School in their first conference matchup of the season.
