Royals Go 2-0 In Home Stand

The Lake Region State College Royals finished this past weekend 2-0 in a pair of home games.

In the first game, of the Spirit Lake Casino and Resort Classic the LRSC Royals took on Minnesota North College-Vermillion. After a slow start and a 42-38 halftime lead. They came out and scored 62 2nd half points to give themselves a 103-84 win. The Royals would hit 14 3's on the night. Ron Lee would lead all scorers with 18pts 5rebs 3ast 2stls. Ginuwine Tropnas 13pts 8rebs, Akok Ajou 12pts 10rebs, Bronson Chambers 10pts, Poet Davis 10pts 10rebs 3ast 4stls and Remy Davis Warrington 12pts would top off the 6 Royals in double figures.

On the 2nd night, Lake Region would open up fast and never look back over Minnesota North College-Hibbing. They built a halftime 42-31 lead and grew the lead to 25 in the 2nd half before Hibbing would make a late run to close the gap to 92-82 final. Poet Davis would score 23pts shooting 5-10 from 3. Bronson Chambers 13pts, Akok Ajou 16pts 11rebs and Ginuwine Tropnas 15pts 10rebs would help lead the way.

Lake Region State College Head Coach Jared Marshall had this to say after the games, "It's always nice to protect your home court. Going 2-0 on the weekend is always exciting. We had another good offensive weekend. I believe we made strides on defense but still have room to grow. I like the pace we play at and how confident we are playing right now. This is a fun team to coach."

The Royals will head to Williston, ND this weekend to play host for the Williston State College Tetons Classic. They will take on North Idaho Friday at 415pm and Rocky Mountain JV on Saturday at noon.
