Tuscaloosa- The Shelton State men's basketball team fell to 12-12 overall and 4-6 in ACCC play after dropping a 100-79 decision to Wallace State.
The Bucs were led by Nazir Griffin who scored a game-high 32 points on 11-18 shooting. Darius Brant pitched in 12 points and Hasani Rivera posted a 9-point, 12 rebound performance. The Bucs shot just 4-17 (23.5%) from beyond the arc while the Lions hit 17 trey balls on 33 attempts (51.5%). Wallace was led by Kendarious Anderson who poured in 30 points on 8-12 from 3.
The 1st half saw the Lions hit 10 trey balls, to just one for the Bucs. Griffin scored 10 points in the first half to lead the Bucs. The Bucs struggled to stop the Lions onslaught from beyond the arc throughout the contest.
Anderson hit four 3's in both halves as the Bucs could not slow down the Lions as they went 7-15 (46.7%) from 3 in the second half. Griffin exploded in the 2nd half, pouring in 22 points, going 7-9 from the field and 7-8 from the charity stripe.
The Bucs return to action on Monday, February 17, as they travel to take on Calhoun.
