Bobcats record sweep in Florida openers
MELBOURNE, Fla. — The Bryant & Stratton College softball team landed in Florida for a weeklong stretch of games following a tough eight-game sequence the previous week. It started with two wins.
Game 1 | Bryant & Stratton 8, Monroe University 0
The Bobcats softball team began its lineup of games in Florida and it started with a win over the Monroe Mustangs.
Holly Lowenberg started in the circle and the UW-Parkside commit rang up 10 strikeouts. She also surrendered two hits, two walks and no runs over six innings.
Bryant & Stratton scored first thanks to a passed ball. Braylyn Babino scored the second run after stealing home. Gia Cobert extended the Bobcats' lead in the bottom of the second to 4-0. Madelyn Birling scored following a Monroe error. The Bobcats tacked on four more runs and recorded their first win of the season.

Game 2 | Bryant & Stratton 4, East Georgia State 3
The second game of the day pitted the Bobcats against East Georgia State, but freshman Kylie Stark was in the circle for the Bobcats this time around. The starter gave up nine hits and three runs (one earned) over seven innings, struck out four and walked one.
Fairfield started the game with a single and she would score the first run following a Cobert groundout.
East Georgia State tied the game in its half of the first but the Bobcats took the lead in the top of the fourth after MacyJean Cain scored on a wild pitch. East Georgia State tied it once again in the sixth, but the Bobcats scored two crucial runs in the seventh that helped them secure win No. 2 of the season.
