The Bryant & Stratton Bobcats Lose 9-4 Despite Out Hitting the Louisburg College Hurricanes.
Even though the Bobcats collected 10 hits to the Hurricanes's nine, they still fell to the Hurricanes. The Hurricanes got on the board in the first inning after a solo home run to right field, scored one run in the bottom of the second on a solo home run to left field, and scored one run in the bottom of the third on a solo home run to left field. Derek Arrocha began the game for the Bobcats allowing four hits and five runs over four and one-third innings, striking out five and walking two. Nelson Zapata hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the seventh for the Bobcats while Chris Johnson, Caden Smith, Diego Melendez, and Zapata each collected two hits. Zapata went 2-for-5 at the plate to lead the team with two runs batted in and the Bobcats stole three bases in the game.

The Bobcats got on the board in the first inning after Diego Melendez singled, scoring one run. The Hurricanes took the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the first thanks to two ground outs. Justin Smith scored after tagging up, which helped the Bobcats tie the game at two in the top of the third. In the bottom of the third, the Hurricanes broke up the tie with a score after tagging up, then an error followed to extend the lead to 4-2. The Bobcats captured the lead, 6-4, in the top of the fourth after Keith Stewart doubled to center field, and Quarles homered to right field, each scoring two runs. Casey Proctor led things off on the mound for Bobcats allowing six hits and five runs (three earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out four and walking two. Jason Johnson pitched two and two-thirds innings of shutout ball for the Bobcats in relief. The righty gave up one hit, striking out four and walking four. The Bobcats accumulated 15 hits in the game. Melendez went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead the Bobcats in hits while Chris Johnson and Nelson Zapata each collected multiple hits. Sylvester Clarke stole two bases and the team stole five bases in the game while turning one double play in the game. Quarles collected three hits in four at-bats, as the Bobcats defeated the Hurricanes 13-5 on Saturday. Quarles hit a home run to right field in the fourth inning, doubled in the seventh inning, and singled in the first inning.
