Women's Basketball Cruises to 1-0 Start on the Season
The Bryant & Stratton College (BSC) Lady Bobcats Women's Basketball team tipped off their season this past Saturday at home against the College of Southern Maryland Hawks.
The Bobcats were looking to start on a high note coming off their best season in program history; outright winning the conference title and making their first National Tournament appearance in program history.
BSC was tasked with taking on the Hawks to start the season and the team did not let up, to say the least. Every player on the Bobcats would get a chance in this one as the Bobcats separated themselves early.
With the help of Shakerra Reddicks; 21pts, 11reb, 4stl, Yvette Sandifer; 15pts, 8ast, 4 stl, Hailey Harris; 17pts, 3ast, and Rakyla Jones; 6pts, 10ast, 8reb, 5stl the Bobcats were able to create a significant lead in the first quarter up 14 and would have this one put away by halftime as they would carry a whopping lead of (55-18) and that would walk them to victory over the Hawks finishing with a score of 102-43 in a route win.
This marks the seventh time in program history that the Bobcats have scored over 100pts, the first time at home since November 17th, 2017 vs. Johnston College (113-69) and the first 100pt game since January 18th, 2020 on the road at Fayetteville Tech CC (103-29). This also set the record for the most points scored to open a home opener for the Lady Bobcats.
Next up the Bobcats will get right into conference play and play host to the Johnston Community College Jaguars on Wednesday night, 6:30pm at Atlantic Shores Christian School.
