With Win Over No. 21 Cape Fear, Coach Cornell Parker and Lady Bobcats Achieve Career 200 Wins
Head Coach Cornell Parker and the Bryant & Stratton College Lady Bobcats defeated the Cape Fear Community College Sea Devils achieving the program's 200th win.
The Bobcats secured a hard-earned 59-53 victory as they took control with a strong first-half performance, leading 27-21 at halftime. The second half saw the Sea Devils make a push, outscoring Bryant & Stratton 16-11 in the final quarter, but the deficit was too large to overcome. Despite shooting just 33.3% from beyond the arc and 63.2% from the free-throw line, Bryant & Stratton's defense and timely shooting were enough to seal the win. Cape Fear, despite a strong effort in the second half, struggled offensively throughout, finishing the game with only 53 points. The regular season series between these two programs is now at 1-1 and if history tells us anything, the odds are high that these two will see each other in the conference tournament.
Key performances from Rakyla Jones with 12 points, and Liv Bodenheimer, who added 13 points off the bench, helped the Bobcats maintain their lead. Shakerra Reddicks contributed 10 rebounds, showcasing her presence in the paint, while Wisdom Banks also provided a spark, scoring 13 points off the bench.
The Lady Bobcats will turn around and play host once again as they will take on the Montgomery College Raptors tomorrow at 5pm.
