Bryant & Stratton Bobcats claim victory over Owens Community College
ORLANDO, Fla. — Bryant & Stratton bested Owens Community College 6-4 on Monday.
Owens got on the board in the top of the first inning after back-to-back homeruns. But the Bobcats cut the lead to one in the bottom of the second.
A home run to right field by Deacan Koback gave Bryant & Stratton Bobcats the lead, 5-3, in the bottom of the third. Owens added another run in the end but Brayden Pleau hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the eighth to add an insurance run for the Bobcats.
Jake Ross made his college debut and he yielded five hits and four runs (three earned) over six innings, struck out four and earned his first win.
Kolden Hunter tossed three innings in relief. The righthander gave up three hits, striking out three and walking one, but secured his first career save.
Stats: Bryant & Stratton ran wild on the base paths, collecting three stolen bases. Bryant & Stratton also turned two double plays.
Koback went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in.
Pleau went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Bryant & Stratton Bobcats in hits.
Tyler Clark stole two bases.
