Hot Bats Lead NCMC Baseball To 5-0 Weekend

NCMC baseball hit the road this past weekend and won all five games, two against Western Technical College and three against North Arkansas College.  NCMC outscored their opponents 71-12 in the games.  The wins push the team's early season record to 8-2 with their next action coming Saturday when they host Dakota County Technical College and Sunday against Ellsworth CC.

They Pirate's potent offense was anchored by sophomore Wilmer Jimenez.  He went 7-12 with 4 home runs, 11 RBIs and 7 runs scored in the wins.  Julio Guerrero also had a nice weekend.  He knocked a pair of homers, totaled 9 RBIs and 11 runs scored while going 6-11.  Jordi Ventura continued his torrid early season pace by knocking a pair of bombs and driving in 7.  Freshman Javier Suarez also homered twice while totaling 8 runs scored and 7 RBIs.  Knocking a homer apiece were Alejandro Paz, Cesar Grau, Chase Maddox, Luis Rivas and Eduardo Chourio.

As offensive as the Pirates were, the pitching staff did an equal job of keeping down their opponents.  For the weekend, NCMC's staff allowed just 11 earned runs over 30 innings.  Earning wins were freshmen Luis Leon, Hikaru Mikami and Max Wagers plus sophomores Eric Torrero and Ethan Walker.
