The Lady Jayhawks played their fifth game of the season at home Tuesday afternoon against Macomb Community College.
The Jayhawks started off the game well by the end of the first quarter the Jayhawks scored 25 and held Macomb at 14. The second quarter revealed to be intense for the Jayhawks as Macomb amplified their defense and led to some free throws to give them 9 points to the Jayhawks' 10. After halftime both teams came back applying more pressure and held tighter in the third, but in the fourth quarter the Lady Jays ultimately outplayed Macomb by 9 leading to their win of 71-45.
Top players of the game were TyVeonna Davis (#23) with 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 steals. Jayna Edmonson (#2) with 14 points, and 8 rebounds. Anna Lundquist (#30) with 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. And Kennedy Adams with 10 points and 9 rebounds.
Head Coach Jason Cooper says: "A great win today. We had some players that were out with some injuries, but, as you know, next woman up. They really stepped up today and I'm very proud of this team, especially with how they battled through the whole game."
