Phantoms Fall Short 66-54 to Union
Chester, PA—Union County College outdueled the Delaware County Community College men's basketball team, dealing DCCC a 66-54 loss.
The Union Owls lapped the DCCC Phantoms on the glass, outrebounding the Phantoms 45-22. Offensively, DCCC struggled from the arc, shooting a season-low 11 percent from three-point range. Union's height and overall shot efficiency (68 percent from the field) provided the definitive edge. The Owls remain undefeated in region play.
"We didn't shoot well from three and we lacked toughness and attention to detail," affirmed DCCC Head Coach Dwayne Saunders.
Despite taking a 13-point deficit into the locker room, the Phantoms outscored the Owls 30-29 in the second half. "Our play at the end was one good thing and something to grow on," Saunders said. "We need that throughout games."
Omar Davis led DCCC scoring with 13 points. "Omar was a bright spot, but it takes a collective performance to win," said Saunders.
The Phantoms take a 4-3 record into its home matchup with EPAC division rival Northampton Community College at 7:00pm on Tuesday, Nov 26.
