The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's volleyball team swept the Independence Community College Pirates Oct. 28 at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo. The six Blue Devil sophomores who were recognized were Nykeriah Allen, Alejandre Aponte, Geme Ajekwu, Mercedez Brown, Glodalys Colon and Sophia Frerking.

Tatianna Murray led the offense with 12 kills and 25 total attempts. Veronica Rolando added seven service aces and led the team with 18 kills along with 10 digs. Brown was the other Blue Devil who received double digit digs with 10. Allen was a force at the net with three block assists and three kills on seven total attempts. Ava Rann also had an impressive outing with eight digs and three service aces.

The final regular season match for the Blue Devils volleyball team is against Hesston College at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 30 in Hesston, Kan.
