Women's Basketball Falls to Jefferson in Region 3 Semifinal

The Hudson Valley women's basketball team saw their postseason run come to an end in the Region 3 Semifinals, falling to Jefferson Community College 79-57.

Despite the loss, multiple Vikings put in strong individual efforts. Stylianna Mantzouris, Leah Pergola, and Myanna Faraj each tallied 10 points, with Faraj also grabbing a team-high 8 rebounds. Abigayle Yetto added 6 rebounds and 3 assists, while Deonna Brodie contributed 6 points and 6 rebounds off the bench.

Turnovers proved costly for the Vikings, as they committed 26 throughout the game, allowing Jefferson to capitalize and maintain control. Defensively, the Vikings fought hard, collecting 13 steals and 7 blocks, but Jefferson's efficiency on offense proved too much to overcome.

With the loss, the Vikings close out their season after a hard-fought playoff run. Finishing with an overall record of 17-8 and going 9-0 undefeated at home.
