Carneys Point, NJ. – The Salem Community College women's basketball team defeated Delaware Technical Community College, 76-52, as the Mighty Oaks won their Region 19 opener.

Salem broke the game open in the second half, outscoring Del. Tech 48-29 in the final two periods of the matchup, while shooting 57% from the field in the fourth quarter. 

Sophomore guard Kathryn Laurence led the way for the Mighty Oaks with 14 points for the game shooting 3 for 5 from beyond the three-point line.  Alexa Hopkins also scored in double figures registering 10 points in the contest.  Daniella Gustin dominated on the glass hauling in 14 rebounds for the Mighty Oaks.

The Mighty Oaks will welcome Lehigh Carbon Community College to the DuPont Fieldhouse Saturday November 16. Tipoff is slated for 12:00 noon.
