The River Secures Victory Over Keiser JV

FORT PIERCE, FL- Indian River were victorious against Keiser JV 5-2 on Tuesday. This improves their record to 18-7 overall.

A ground out by Jacob Souza put Indian River on the board in the bottom of the second inning. The River extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Jason Lashley and Jacob Souza. Indian River would tack on two more runs in the fifth and sixth innings, scoring one in each.

Dane Rossi started on the bump for Indian River. The freshman gave up one hit and no runs over five innings, striking out five. Rossi would earn his first career win for Indian River. Jomari Philostin, another freshman for Indian River, followed Rossi's outing with two more scoreless innings for himself, striking out three.

Indian River piled up twelve hits in the game. Jason Lashley and Scout Simpson each had three hits. Jacob Souza led the team with three RBIs, and Brett Patten added two stolen bases to make his season total for a team-high eighteen.

Indian River will be hosting St. Pete College this Thursday, March 13 for Citrus Conference action.
