
On March 22nd, Wabash Valley started their four game conference series with Kaskaskia at Paul Schnarre Field. The Lady Warriors took game one by a final of 10-7, and then took game two by a final of 2-1.
In game one, the Lady Warriors tallied 15 hits in the victory. Kaskaskia was able to hold Wabash Valley scoreless for two innings. In the bottom of the third inning, the Lady Warriors erupted for five runs and tallied three more runs in the bottom of the fourth to make it an 8-0 game. The top of the fifth, the Blue Angels cut into the eight run deficit and made it an 8-2 game. Kaskaskia held Wabash Valley scoreless in the home half of the fifth. The Blue Angels added another two runs in the top of the sixth, but the Lady Warriors answered with two of their own in the home half of the inning. Wabash Valley entered the seventh with a six run lead, 10-4. The Blue Angels found a little bit of life in the top of the seventh, as they plated three runs. The Blue Angels were unable to keep their rally alive and fell to Wabash Valley by a final of 10-7.
Jocelynn Vincent and Emma Banks tallied three hits each. Easton Wampler and Makayla Collins added two hits a piece. Alexis Tucker, Mara Serafini, EmmaLeee Higgs, Michelle Wildman and Audra Gibson all had one hit each. Wampler led the Lady Warriors with three RBIs. Tucker and Gibson had two RBIs. Also collecting RBIs for the Lady Warriors were Banks, Collins, and Serafini.
Alexis Tucker went the distance in the circle for Wabash Valley. She allowed eight hits, seven runs, but four were earned runs. She also finished with seven strikeouts and one walk.
In game two, the game was scoreless until the top of the sixth. Kaskaskia plated their lone run of the game in their half of the inning. The Lady Warriors tied the ball game at one with a two out RBI single from Brockett. The Lady Warriors were able to hold the Blue Angels in the top half of the seventh. Maelynn Batson led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a walk. EmmaLee Higgs moved Batson over to second base with a sacrifice bunt. With one out, Michelle Wildman grounded out to third base. With two outs and a runner on second, Jocelynn Vincent stepped into the box with the opportunity to be the hero for the Lady Warriors. During her plate apperance, Batson moved up to third on a passed ball. The next pitch, Vincent walked it off with a double to centerfield. The Lady Warriors win 2-1.
Natalie Brockett went the distance in the circle for the Lady Warriors. She allowed six hits, allowed one run, and collected one strikeout.
