January 4, 2025 - - The Lorain County Community College women's basketball team fell to No. 14 SUNY Niagara Community College (NJCAA DII) on the road Saturday afternoon by a final score of 91-49. SUNY Niagara improves to 15-1 while LCCC drops to 4-9.
A trio of Commodores scored in double figures, led by Ally Winnen (Lorain, Ohio/Elyria Catholic HS) who recorded her ninth double-double of the season with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Abigail Schmitz (Amherst, Ohio/Firelands HS) added 10 points, four rebounds, and two assists.
Allison Jones (Homerville, Ohio/Wadsworth HS) contributed 11 points, shooting 5-for-9 from the field, marking her first double-digit scoring game of the season.
Next Up:
The Commodores return to the familiar confines of the Ewing Activities Center Gymnasium tomorrow, Sunday, January 5, 2025, for a noon rematch against the Community College of Allegheny County. The Commodores previously lost to CCAC on the road on November 5, 2024, by a score of 50-44. During the 2024-25 season, the Commodores hold a 4-3 record at home.
