Wolverines close out the year with tough loss

Newark, NJ - The Essex County College Men's Basketball team finished the 2024 year with a loss at Raritan 80-71. Ethan Laquindanum led the Wolverines with 17 points and 7 assists, while Ricardo Gomez finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Raritan came out hot to start the game and took a 36-29 lead into halftime, before the Wolverines cut the led to single digits. The opponents stingy defense forced the Wolverines into some tough shots on offense and along with some key rebounding, led to the victory.

The Wolverines shot 49.1% from the field for the game, while only committing 7 turnovers.

The Wolverines finish the year 3-12 and return to action Tuesday Jan. 14 at Lackawanna College, as part of a double header with the women's teams. Tipoff is set for 7pm and 5pm for the women's games.
