The McLennan Highlanders continued their run through NTJCAC conference play with another doubleheader sweep of the Cisco Lady Wranglers.
The Highlanders opened the day with an 11-1 run-rule win with Natalie Klenda in the circle.
McLennan took control early with eight runs in the first inning. Mickayla Tosch walked and Trinity Allen was hit by the pitch. Macie Jansky single to score Tosch, and Ally Thompson singled to load the bases. MJ Nicholson walked, scoring Allen, and Aynsli Lawson walked to score Jansky. Thompson then scored on a sacrifice fly by Ellie Loveless. Madison Garcia reached on an error, scoring Nicholson. Tehya Pitts then single to score Lawson and Garcia. Tosch was hit by the pitch, and Allen singled to score Pitts.
Cisco's only run came in the top of the second. Angelina Rodriguez singled and Kylee Watson walked, both advancing on a passed ball. Rodriguez then scored on a sacrifice fly by Gracyn Slack.
The Highlanders added a run in the third. Loveless singled and Garcia walked. Both runners stole a bases, and Loveless scored when Pitts hit into a double play.
The final two McLennan runs scored in the bottom or the fourth as Nicholson doubled and scored on Loveless' home run.
It was all McLennan in the series finale as the Highlanders got the 8-0 run-rule win in six innings. Loveless picked up the win in the circle.
One Highlander runs scored in the first. Pitts and Tosch both singled. Pitts then scored on a ground out by Allen.
Three McLennan runs scored in the third. Allen doubled and Lilli Piersons singled. Allen scored on a sac fly by Madison Levsey. Lawson then doubled to score Piersons, and Alyssa Moreno doubled to score Lawson.
The Highlanders added another run in the fifth. Nicholson singled and advanced on a wild pitch. Nicholson then scored on a single by Thompson.
McLennan secured the run rule with three runs in the bottom of the sixth. Allen singled, advanced on a ground out by Levsey and scored on a triple by Nicholson. Thompson followed with a walk-off two-run homer.
