Bears Take Series Finale From Grizzlies
Grizzlies Fall in Game 4, Turn Sights to Conference Play
EL DORADO, Kan. – The Butler baseball team ran out of gas on Sunday afternoon, falling 14-3 to Des Moines Area Community College at McDonald Stadium in a run-rule eight inning game.
The Grizzlies (7-5) took the first three games of the series to grab the series win but saw the Bears (6-11) plate 14 runs on 12 hits as they hit five home runs in the finale.
DMACC plated multiple runs in five innings including three runs each in the sixth, seventh and eighth. The Grizzlies used a run in the third, fifth and eighth. Freshman infielder Jackson Ellison plated the first run of the game for Butler in the third to make it 5-1. A leadoff home run from redshirt freshman outfielder Amarion Sailer in the fifth inning made it 5-2. It marked Sailer's first home run of the season.
