In their national tournament debut, the Miami Dade College Sharks fell 3-1 to Cowley County Community College in a hard-fought match. The game began with early defensive intensity from both sides, but Cowley County struck first in the 8th minute when Shogo Haraikawa found the net, assisted by Sota Nakazono. Just three minutes later, Cowley doubled their lead with a goal from Takeru Chiba, again assisted by Nakazono. The Sharks had an opportunity to close the gap in the 16th minute, but Edoardo Duchini's penalty kick was saved by Cowley goalkeeper Kamy Ndione, keeping the score 2-0 at halftime despite several close attempts by Miami Dade.
The Sharks came out strong in the second half, with Duchini redeeming himself in the 46th minute by scoring off an assist from Facundo Ochoa, narrowing the deficit to 2-1. Miami Dade continued to apply pressure, with Kyle Reid nearly equalizing moments later with a shot that hit the crossbar. However, Cowley regained momentum in the 52nd minute when Renan Syrio extended their lead to 3-1 with another assist from Nakazono.
Despite a flurry of shots and set-piece opportunities from the Sharks, including a header by Jesus Colazo in the 79th minute, Ndione's exceptional goalkeeping and Cowley's solid defense denied Miami Dade any further scoring. Samuel Cavo, Miami Dade's goalkeeper, also made several key saves to prevent Cowley from widening the margin, but the early goals proved decisive.
