Phoenix College Men’s Basketball Improves to .500 with Win Over South Mountain

The Phoenix College Bears Men's Basketball team delivered an impressive performance, defeating South Mountain Community College 91-78. The victory brings the Bears to a 10-10 overall record and 2-6 in conference play. 

Game Highlights:

Phoenix College showcased a dominant offensive effort, shooting an exceptional 64.0% from the field and 61.9% from beyond the arc. 

  • Anthony Kangah led the charge with a 27-point performance on 9-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point range. He also grabbed 8 rebounds, dished out 4 assists, and recorded 3 steals.
  • AJ Ajawain provided a double-double, scoring 19 points and pulling down 10 rebounds while shooting 8-of-10 from the floor.
  • Maximus Romero added 15 points, connecting on 3-of-5 from deep and contributing 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
  • Eli Fleming also made a significant impact with 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting from three-point range.

Looking Ahead:

Phoenix College now turns its attention to Scottsdale Community College in what will be a pivotal matchup for conference standings. With the Bears sitting in 5th place, a win over 4th-ranked Scottsdale would move them up in the rankings.
