Opening weekend games canceled

The opening weekend for the Virginia Peninsula Community College baseball team was canceled because of wet field conditions. Doubleheaders scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 25, and Sunday, Jan. 26, at Bryant & Stratton College in Virginia Beach will not be made up.

The Gators now are set to open the 2025 season Saturday, Feb. 8, with two games at Anne Arundel Community College in Maryland. Their home opener is the following day with a doubleheader against the College of Southern Maryland at War Memorial Stadium in Hampton. First pitch for Game 1 is scheduled for noon.
