Ocelots End Spring Trip With Split

WINTER HAVEN, FL- The Ocelots completed their week long Florida trip with a morning doubleheader against Bryant & Stratton (WI).

Game 1- 

Schoolcraft Ocelots topped Bryant & Stratton (WI) Bobcats 4-3 on Friday at Chain of Lakes park in game 1 of the doubleheader.

Bryant & Stratton Bobcats got on the board in the fourth inning after singling home a run.Schoolcraft would capture the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the fifth when Jace Walerski singled, scoring one run, one run scored on another play, and Dalton Vance singled, scoring two runs.

John Toth earned the win for Schoolcraft Ocelots. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and three runs over six innings, striking out three and walking one. Dominic Westfall collected the save out of the bullpen, throwing 1 inning and allowing just 1 hit. 

Vance, the number seven hitter for Schoolcraft Ocelots, led the way with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Leadoff hitter Braylon Schroeder led Schoolcraft Ocelots with two hits in three at bats.

Game 2- 

A walk-off left the Ocelots on the wrong end of a 6-5 defeat to Bryant & Stratton Bobcats on Friday in game 2 of the doubleheader. The game was tied at five in the bottom of the seventh when the Bobcats singled, scoring one run.

Schoolcraft lost despite out-hitting Bryant & Stratton Bobcats seven to six. Braylon Schroeder led Schoolcraft Ocelots with two hits.

The Ocelots got on the board in the top of the third inning after Noah McCann singled down the left field line, and Bryant & Stratton Bobcats committed an error, each scoring one run. Bryant & Stratton Bobcats flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the seventh, scoring six runs on three hits to take the lead, 6-5. The biggest blow in the inning was a single followed by an error that that drove in three.

Owen Elsey opened the game for Schoolcraft Ocelots. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out six and walking one. 

McCann provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Schoolcraft Ocelots with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day.
