Women's Basketball Falls to Harford

DUNDALK, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College women's basketball team fell to visiting Harford Community College, 101-46, Wednesday evening at the CCBC Dundalk Gymnasium. Aichatta Soumaoro scored 18 points to lead the Riverhawks, while Ayannah Gorham added an 11-point, 17-rebound double-double, her fourth of the season. 

Holly Wall added eight points with four steals, three rebounds, and a pair of blocks.

AACC scored five points right off the bat and only trailed briefly until the Owls closed the first quarter on a nine-point run. Harford extended its lead to 10 by midway through the second quarter, and headed into halftime with a 46-29 lead.

Harford used runs of 11 and 12 points in the third to break open the game and limited the Riverhawks to seven points in the final frame.

The Owls held a 46-43 advantage in rebounds and sank seven three-pointers in the game, five of which came from Madison Nimmo, who finished with 31 points. Harford scored 43 points off of turnovers and benefitted from 21 bench points.

The Riverhawks are back in action on Saturday in a 1 p.m. game at CCAC.
