Fast Start Guides Ladies to Another Road Win

DUBOIS, PA - A long string of road games to start 2024 for the Jamestown Community College (JCC) women's basketball team ended with a fifth win, this time 64-53 over Penn State DuBois.

Jamestown started the game building a quick ten-point lead, ending the first quarter up 14-4 over the Nittany Lions. JCC held that lead through the first half, taking a 32-26 advantage to the break.

The Jayhawks were led in the game by sophomore Jennica Berens with 12 points and Myla Truitt's 16.

The ladies bolstered the edge in the third quarter, winning it 20-12 to put it in cruise control in the fourth.

Freshman Tania Carter also hit double-digits with 10 points. Jamestown also put in work on the boards; Mbali Mhlanga had 15, and Courtney Martin and Jennica Berens both had nine.

The win is their fifth in their last six games and improves the overall mark to 6-2.

JCC opens their home schedule on Saturday, November 22nd, at 1:00 PM when they host Garrett College.
