
No. 16 Trojans roll, 86-45
MASON CITY - The No. 16 NIACC women's basketball team cruised to a 86-45 victory over Southwestern CC Wednesday night in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym.
NIACC (10-2 overall, 3-1 in the ICCAC) led 25-6 after the first quarter and pushed its lead to 43-17 at the half.
The Trojans put four players in double figures for the fifth straight game.
Sophomore Keeley Steele led the Trojans with 16 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and four steals. It was Steele's first career double/double.
Also for the Trojans, sophomore Sonya Potthoff scored 14 points, freshman Kelsey McDonough scored 13 points and sophomore Tori Miller scored 10 points.
NIACC freshman Reggi Spotts scored seven points with six rebounds, three steals and one assist. The Trojans' Karly Holm scored nine points with two steals.
Miller also added five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
NIACC returns to action at home Friday and Saturday against Lake Region State College in a pair of non-conference contests. The Friday contest is slated to start at 5 p.m. with the Saturday tilt beginning at 1 p.m.
