Last Time Out 

• Baton Rouge- The Bears split Day one with a loss to Alvin Community College and a victory over Bishop State.

• Alvin Community College played UH Victoria and Midland on Saturday January 25, 2025.   Alvin defeated Midland 5-4 in eight innings and loss 9-1 in six inning to UH Victoria.

• Bishop State Community College will play National Park on Friday January 31 in the Mardi Gras Tournament at 3:30 pm. 

• Parkland College will play Meridian , Bossier Parish and Southwest Mississippi on Friday January 31 and Saturday February 1 in the Mardi Gras Tournament before they face BRCC.  Parkland defeated Meridian 7-1 and lost 6-5 to Bossier Parish

• University of Arkansas Rich Mountain will play Southwest Mississippi , Mississippi Gulf Coast and Bishop State in the Mardi Gas Tournament before they take on BRCC. UA Rich Mountain defeated Southwest Missisippi 5-4, loss to Mississippi Gulf Coast 3-1 and defeated Bishop State 9-4.

History Between Teams 

• The Bears are 0-2 against Alvin Community College. These two teams first met on February 3, 2014 in Galveston. Alvin defeated the Bears 14-6. The last time these two teams met was January 27, 2017 in Galveston. Alvin defeated the Bears 10-5. 

• The Bears hold a 6-1 series record over the Bishop State Wildcats. The first time these two was February 18, 2022 in Gulf Shores. The Bears defeated the Wildcats 9-4. The last time these two team met was March 2, 2024 in Perkinston, Mississippi. The Bears and Wildcats split with the Bears winning game one 7-4 and the Wildcats winning game two 4-1. 

• This will be the first meeting between  Baton Rouge and Parkland College. 

• This will be the first meeting between Baton Rouge and the University of Arkansas-Rich Mountain. 

Next Up 

• The Bears will return home to face the Holmes Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday February 4, 2025. The doubleheader will start at 1 pm at Hartley-Vey (Oak Villa) Sports Complex.
