Sharks Rout #8 Seed in the Country
Miami Dade showcased an all-around dominant performance, blanking the College of Southern Idaho 8-0 in a five-inning run-rule victory. The Sharks' offense was firing on all cylinders, racking up 13 hits while pitcher Carina Amarilla delivered a gem, allowing just two hits over five scoreless innings.
The scoring started early, with Miami Dade plating two runs in the first inning. Ty Marie Cervantes kicked things off with an RBI double, scoring Caroline Mito. Maria Valls Raya followed with a sacrifice fly, bringing Amanda Handa home for a quick 2-0 lead.
A four-run second inning put the game further out of reach. Mito doubled to drive in a run, followed by an RBI single from Handa. Cervantes continued her hot streak with an RBI single, and Valls Raya grounded out but still managed to bring home another run.
Miami Dade tacked on two more in the fourth. Dana Piri laced an RBI double to left, scoring Mayah Bostic, and Ebba Sofia Eriksson followed with an RBI single to make it 8-0.
Meanwhile, Amarilla was in complete control on the mound, striking out two and allowing just one walk while facing 18 batters. The Golden Eagles struggled to generate offense, managing only two hits throughout the contest.
Cervantes led the way at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBIs, while Mito and Handa each tallied two hits and an RBI. Piri and Eriksson also contributed with key extra-base hits.
