Cardinals Split Doubleheader Friday

Catonsville, MD – The Cardinals split the doubleheader with Jefferson Community College in two close games. Winning the first game 10-9 but losing the second 8-6. Catonsville gave Jefferson Community College their first loss of the season in game 1. They were 4-0 before the loss.  

Extra Innings Thriller 

Game one came down to the wire. Catonsville ran out to an early 8-3 lead after the 3rd inning. Scoring stopped until the top of the 7th, where Jefferson Community College scored 5 to tie the game 8-8. Scoring again in the 8th Catonsville was down 8-9 before scoring 2 to win the game. Alana Watts and Emily Fagan lead the Cardinals offense in the win. Watts went 2-4 with 2 RBI's and 3 runs scored while Fagan went 3-5 with 3 RBI's. 

Competitive Game 2 

Game two did not go the Cardinals way, dropping the game 8-6. Jumping out to an early 4-2 lead after the 2nd inning, Jefferson Community College rallied back the next 2 innings outscoring the Cardinals 6-2. Alana Watts and Brianna Twigg were great for the Cardinals despite the loss. Watts went 2-3 with an HR and 3 RBIs, while Twigg went 2-3 and scored 2 runs for the Cardinals.  

Watts Shines 

Alana Watts had a great day despite the Cardinals Splitting the doubleheader. Watts went a combined 4-7 in the two games, with 5 RBIs, a HR, and 5 Runs scored for the Cardinals. She helped the Cardinals Score a combined 16 runs in the 2 games and was a key piece for the offense.
