Wolverines Clipped by Vikings

Newark, NJ - The Wolverines took on the Vikings of Westchester Community College Saturday afternoon in a tightly contested non-region 19 matchup. Shane Cedres led the way for the Wolverines with 34 points and 8 rebounds. Essex fell behind early and trailed through halftime, before mounting a vicious comeback and making it a game late in the 4th quarter. Essex outscored Westchester 59-42, but the Vikings came up with key baskets and stops late in the game to seal the victory. Jaidan Gilzene scored 19 points and held down 7 rebounds, while Ethan Laquindanum chipped in with 15 points and 5 assists.

The Wolverines shot 65.5% from the field for the game, including 35.3% from three point range, but also allowed their opponents to shoot 47.4% for the game as well.

The Wolverines (3-9) return to action Tuesday at home vs Del Tech (7pm tipoff), as apart of a double header with the women's teams.
