
The men's basketball team survived a sophomore day victory over the North Country Saints. Matej Gasevic and Max Pritchett were both honored before the game as the team's 2025 sophomores. The Raiders were able to celebrate a 63-62 victory over the Saints to improve to 11-9 overall.
FM jumped out to an 18-9 lead mid-way through the first half. Over the next five minutes, the Raiders held the Saints scoreless to push the lead to 37-24 at the break.
North Country opened the second half on a 12-6 run and trailed 43-36 with fifteen minutes to play. At the three-minute mark FM led by 7 and North Country was able to cut it to 3 with one minute remaining.
The Saints got the ball off an FM turnover with 24 seconds left and FM leading 61-60. North Country sank a deep two pointer to go ahead 62-61. With 5.7 seconds left, Milos Cirovic dribbled the length of the court and converted on a contested lay-up for the 63-62 win.
Gasevic led with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Johnardo Turner followed with 15 points and 7 assists.
The Raiders are back in action on Tuesday, February 18th when they travel to take on Dutchess Community College.
