Men's basketball beats Summer Hill Prep 89-74

Oxford, Ga. - The Emory Oxford men's basketball team defeated visiting Summer Hill Prep 89-74.

The Eagles held a nine point lead halfway through the first half, but Summer Hill came back and the two teams were tied at 44 to the end half.

Emory Oxford pulled away at the end of the second when first-year Tyler Pavlik made four out of his five three-pointers in the final ten minutes of the game.

Four first-year players for the Eagles scored in the double digits. Ved Desai led Emory Oxford with 22 points. He also had nine rebounds. Pavlik scored 20, while Leo Etah had 19 points and 8 rebounds. Jason Kim had a double-double with 16 points and 10 assists. Kim also had seven rebounds.

Emory Oxford's record is now 6-7.

The Eagles will travel to face conference opponent Virginia Peninsula College at Sandhills Community College in North Carolina on Sunday at 3 p.m.
