Erie baseball continues their spring swing of games with a doubleheader split with Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
In the first game, despite seeing their five run lead whittled down by the end, Erie held on for a 10-8 win on Wednesdsay. Adam Scibetta collected three hits in four at bats in the win, including an inside the park homerun in the first inning. James Buettner also had three hits in the game while Konner Hauck, EJ Williams and Eric Calder each had two.
Xavier Beckstead started on the hill for the Kats. The starter allowed five hits and seven runs over four innings, striking out two and walking six. Jordan Korpan appeared in relief for the Kats.
The Kats could not keep up with the Cougars in game two and fell 13-2.
Erie's two runs came from the bat of Zach Colon who homered to center field for the double run shot. Aiden Piccolo took the loss for Erie. The pitcher went two and one-third innings, allowing nine runs (seen earned) on nine hits, striking out three and walking one.
The team will back on the field Thursday for two games.
