JCC's Upset Bid Falls Just Short at Monroe

ROCHESTER, NY - It was a heartbreaking loss for the Jamestown Community College men's basketball team at Monroe Community College Saturday afternoon.

The Jayhawks missed out on their first league win by two, falling 79-77 to the Tribunes.

Jamestown was led in scoring by Tamir Barrant, who poured in 24; Marcus Wynter scored 18; Federico Foddai added 17; and Travis Castro had 12 off the bench.

The Jayhawks trailed by nine with just 29 seconds to play before tough defense and lethal offense made it a one-possession game late.

Five straight points from Wynter brought the game to within two at the nine-second mark.

The freshman then had a 3/4 court heave to try and rip the win away from Monroe, but it fell short.

This loss brings Jamestown to 5-23 on the year, 0-6 in conference.
