SENATOBIA, MS - The Lady Indians pulled off a hard-fought 68-64 victory over Northwest.
After a slow start in the first quarter, the Lady Indians found itself in a tight battle, leading just 11-9 after the opening frame. The Lady Rangers answered in the second quarter, outscoring Itawamba 17-15, and the teams went into halftime in a deadlock at 26-26.
The Lady Indians turned up the intensity in the third quarter, exploding for 24 points while holding Northwest to just 18. Northwest attempted to rally in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Indians' defense held strong in the closing minutes. Clutch free throws down the stretch helped ICC seal the victory, improving to 18-5 on the season and 8-2 in MACCC play.
D'Naylah Williams was a force on the boards, recording a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Alayna Ball led the team in scoring with 18 points. Jestiny Dixon added 15 points and finshed the night with six steals.
