Warner- It was a completly different Lineup for the Connors State College Cowboys when they opened the new campaign. This time the charge was lead by Freshman Ethan Dietz and Kevin Stubblefield Jr as the Connors State Cowboys opened the 2024 season with a 109-64 win over the Central Baptist College Mustangs JV.
Dietz, a freshman from Conway, Arkansas, had 20 points on the night and Stubblefield Jr, a freshman from Omaha, Nebraska, scored 16 for the Cowboys in the first of back to back nights of action on the Warner campus.
"It was a good night with everyone playing and that was the biggest plus of the night. That's always good for team chemistry especially when you have as many new faces as we have this year," said Hall of Fame coach Bill Muse, now entering his 33rd year at the helm of the Cowboys. "Our competition this week will be about the same, so it gives everyone a chance to build some minutes and feel good about things before things start getting tougher next week."
The Cowboys hit the court again Saturday in Warner in a 2:00 p.m. tipoff against Langston University.
