TSC Women's Basketball Split Weekend Games, Going 1-1

Tallahassee, FL – The Tallahassee State College Eagles Women's Basketball Team had a solid weekend, securing a victory against East Georgia State College but falling short against South Georgia Technical College.

Game 1: Victory Against East Georgia State College

The Eagles started the weekend on a high note with a strong team performance, defeating East Georgia State College. The balanced attack and solid defense were key factors in their success.

Key Performances:

  • Santianna Davy led the scoring with 15 points, shooting 6-11 from the field and 2-4 from beyond the arc. She also contributed 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
  • Zhaniah Ervin was perfect from the field, scoring 12 points on 3-3 shooting, including 1-1 from three-point range, and a stellar 5-6 from the free-throw line. She also added 4 rebounds and 2 steals.
  • Tierra Coleman provided a strong presence off the bench, scoring 12 points and grabbing 5 rebounds in just 10 minutes of play.
  • Aiyana Sam was efficient from the free-throw line, going 6-6 and adding 10 points to the team's total.

The Eagles demonstrated their depth with contributions from both starters and reserves. The team shot 41.7% from the field, 29.4% from three-point range, and an impressive 88.0% from the free-throw line.

Game 2: Tough Loss Against South Georgia Tech

In their second game, the Eagles faced a tough opponent in South Georgia Tech and despite a valiant effort, they fell short.

  • Aiyana Sam led the team with 16 points, shooting 4-13 from the field and 2-5 from three-point range. She was perfect from the free-throw line, going 6-6, and added 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
  • Cienna Thigpen contributed 10 points, hitting 4-14 from the field and 2-7 from beyond the arc. She also recorded 4 assists and 2 steals.
  • Ashara Spruill was a force on the boards, grabbing 9 rebounds to go along with her 9 points. She shot 3-7 from the field and 1-2 from three-point range.
  • Kalisha Phillips provided a spark off the bench, scoring 8 points and dishing out 4 assists in 22 minutes of play.

The Eagles faced a challenging game but showed resilience throughout. The team shot 27.3% from the field, 24.0% from three-point range, and 60.7% from the free-throw line.
