
Trojans stop DCTC, 89-76
MASON CITY - Sophomore guard Omarion Roberts scored 21 points to lead the NIACC men's basketball team to a 89-76 victory over DCTC Saturday night in the final game of the 2024 Konigsmark Klassic in the NIACC gym.
Roberts led four Trojans in double figures as he scored at least 20 points in a game for the sixth time in his career. Roberts, who scored 19 points in Friday's season-opening loss to Wilbur Wright College, also had six rebounds, four steals and one assist in Saturday's win.
Two NIACC players recorded double/doubles in Saturday's win over DCTC. NIACC's Cameron Reigard scored 18 points with 10 rebounds and Zion Wright scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
NIACC's Randy McClendon scored 15 points with three rebounds and one assist. Wright also added four steals and had three assists.
NIACC (1-1 overall) returns to action Thursday at home against the Mount Mercy Junior Varsity. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 6:30 p.m.
