VPCC earns season sweep of Washington Adventist
Johnson, Morore pace offense with 19 points apiece.
The Gators (12-5) picked up a nonconference victory Sunday, Jan. 26, by defeating Washington Adventist's junior varsity squad 76-50. It gave the Gators a season sweep of the Shock. VPCC won the first game 71-61 at home 11 days earlier.
In the most recent win, Keshaun Johnson (Nansemond River High School/Suffolk) and Sincere Moore (Matoaca/Chesterfield) scored 19 points apiece. Johnson also had eight rebounds and five blocks. Moore added seven rebounds and three steals.
Jakobe Reed (Woodside/Hampton) chipped in with 10 points, five assists and three steals, and Jeremiah Bryant (Indian River/Chesapeake) contributed 10 points and two steals.
The Gators' next two games are on the road (at Paul D. Camp on Jan. 29 and at Chowan University on Feb. 3) before closing the regular season with three consecutive home games (Feb. 8 vs. Sandhills Community College, Feb. 12 against Camp and Feb. 15 against Patrick & Henry Community College).
