The Lumberjack Baseball team went 3-1 on the weekend against Northland Community and Technical College.
2-1 win
The Jacks scored on an error by the Pioneers in bottom of the fifth to take a 2-1 lead. A lead they wouldn't surrender. Kayden Cey doubled and drove in a run. Dalton Vangorden also doubled. Joe Plett swiped a base. On the mound Carter Ralston pitched a gem, going five and one-third innings giving up three hits and 0 earned runs while striking out five. Auden Lasson closed it out, striking out two and getting the save.
3-1 loss
Vangorden doubled for the second time in two games. Ayden Ramirez also hit a two bagger. Cey was credited with the lone Jacks RBI. Elijah Mata picked up a stolen base, Owen Taylor had one strikeout on the mound.
20-4 win
The bats were hot for the Jacks on day two as they drove in 18 runs in game one. Vangorden homered and drove in three runs. Engerbon Moreno tripled and also drove in three runs. Ramirez doubled for the second consecutive game and had two RBIs. Evan Pursifull doubled and had a run batted in. Cey continued his hot streak with two RBIs, and McLeod Sell was credited with three RBIs. Kaeden Wilcox drove in two while, Hunter Stevans and Tatum Packer each knocked in one run. Nathaniel McGill got the win and had on strikeout. Derek Borino had one strikeout in relief.
13-12 win
A double by Vangorden in the top of the eighth inning would score one run to give the Jacks the lead for good. A pair of homers from Ralson and Dominic Holmstrup highlighted the DCB hitting attack. Wilcox picked up a triple and had ab RBI as well as stole a base. Sell hit two doubles and drove in a run. Cey, Plett, and Packer all knocked in a run. Pursifull knocked in two runs. Bryce Meyers picked up the win and had one strikeout.
The Jacks wrap up non-conference play 12-8. DCB kicks off Mon-Dak play Saturday and Sunday in Miles City
