Haverhill, MA (December 14, 2024) – The Northern Essex Community College women's basketball team dropped a Region 21 contest over the weekend falling to Massasoit by a final score of 92-46. With the loss the Knights fall to 5-6 on the season and 4-3 in conference play.

The Warriors jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back as the Knights trailed throughout the contest. The Knights closed the gap in the opening minutes of the second half as they cut into the lead with a 25-point third quarter.

Mirelys Morales (Dracut) led the Knights in scoring with a team high 21 points and was followed by Rhaelyn Gutierrez (Methuen) who added 15 points.

Shaneley Henriquez (Haverhill) led the Knights with six rebounds to go along four assists and four steals.

The Knights close out the first half of the season on Wednesday when they play host to nationally ranked Kingsborough Community College at 5:30 on the Haverhill campus.
