East Central Community College Baseball secured a 4-3 victory over Shelton State College Buccaneers on Thursday after establishing a 4-run lead in the second inning and successfully maintaining it. Shelton State made a comeback by scoring through a single, a sacrifice fly, and a walk.

The game began with East Central leading at the bottom of the first inning. Barrett Rodgers doubled, bringing in one run, and Landon Moore added to the scoreboard with a sacrifice fly that scored two runs. In the second inning, East Central CC increased their lead by one more run after Jayden Adcox hit a single down the right-field line.

Marbin Lezcano earned the win for East Central CC, pitching five and one-third innings while allowing one hit and one run, striking out seven batters and walking two. JD Wilkens was credited with the loss for Shelton State College, giving up four runs on four hits in one and two-thirds innings, with one strikeout and two walks. Rhett Atkinson, Kamryn Carlisle, Eli Smith, and Chris Billingsley Jr. each contributed by throwing shutout innings in relief for East Central CC.
