Herkimer Lacrosse Bounces Back with Commanding 11-1 Win Over Tompkins Cortland

The Herkimer College men's lacrosse team rebounded from its first loss of the season with a dominant 11-1 victory over Tompkins Cortland Community College. The Generals improved to 5-1 on the season, putting together a well-rounded performance both offensively and defensively.

Herkimer wasted no time setting the tone, scoring seven goals in the first quarter while holding Tompkins Cortland scoreless. Ryan Hoyt opened the scoring less than three minutes into the game and finished with three goals and two assists to lead the Generals. Eric Attleson, Chris Rose, and Casey Ryan also had big offensive contributions, with each recording multiple goals.

The Generals continued their offensive onslaught in the second quarter, adding four more goals to take an 11-0 lead into halftime. Hoyt, Ryan, and Rose all added to their goal totals, while Jordan Fox and Attleson provided key assists to fuel the attack.

Herkimer's defense was outstanding throughout the game, allowing just one goal, which came in the third quarter when Brayden Kitterle scored for Tompkins Cortland. The Generals' defensive unit was relentless, limiting their opponents' offensive chances and maintaining control of possession.

With the win, Herkimer improves to 5-1 and will now turn its attention to a home matchup against Hudson Valley Community College on Saturday at 4:00 PM. The Generals will look to continue their winning ways as they push forward in the season.
