EUNICE, La. - The NIACC baseball team dropped a 34-1 decision to No. 4 (NJCAA Division I) LSU-Eunice on Friday.
LSU-Eunice (24-1) scored 14 runs in the third inning and 11 runs in the fourth inning. The 34 runs were the most for LSU-Eunice since putting up 35 runs in a 2016 victory over Prairie State.
The 14 runs were the most for the Bengals in a single inning since that 2016 Prairie State victory that saw the Bengals post 19 runs in an at-bat.
The Bengals' Alex Dupuy went 4-for-4 – producing the second cycle in LSU-Eunice history, both coming in the last week.
NIACC's lone run came on a home run from George McIntyre in the first inning. It was McIntyre's team-leading fourth home run of the season.
Jacob Neutz collected two hits for the Trojans. The Trojans also received hits from Lincoln Becker and Tommy Lyman,
NIACC (7-10) returns to action Saturday in the second game of a 3-game series against LSU-Eunice. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
