
MIDDLESEX COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL TOPS NASSAU CC 76-65 FOR FOURTH STRAIGHT WIN
Sean Williams had 22 points and 11 rebounds and Tristin Harcourt registered his 11th double-double on the season as Middlesex College Men's Basketball won their fourth straight game, topping Nassau CC 76-65.
With the win, Middlesex now stands at 17-4 on the season. The win comes on the heels of an 84-64 win over Camden CC, which was Head Coach Winston Smith's 50th career win. In two and a half seasons at the helm of Middlesex College, Smith's overall record is 51-29.
Against Nassau, Middlesex played their typical brand of solid defense and began to gain some separation on the scoreboard at the end of the first half. The teams were close throughout, but the Colts took a 39-33 lead into the break.
The second half was similar to the first as Middlesex continued to play a solid brand of basketball and outscored the Lions 37-32 in the second half on their way to an 11-point win.
This was the fourth straight game in which Williams topped 20 points. The sophomore guard has averaged 25 points per game over that stretch.
Anthony Williams (Sophomore/Old Bridge, NJ) scored 16 points on 7-10 shooting while grabbing eight rebounds for the Colts.
Harcourt grabbed 14 rebounds, his sixth game this season with as many, on the way to his 11th double-double of the season. He is fifth in the country among NJCAA Division II players with an average of 11 rebounds per game. He leads the country among NJCAA scholarship schools with 209 total rebounds.
Middlesex returns to the court on Tuesday in a big Region 19 road matchup at Mercer CC. Tipoff is set for 7PM. Mercer handed Middlesex one of their four losses this season on an overtime buzzer-beater. The Colts currently sit on top of the Region 19 Division II standings and received votes in the latest NJCAA Division II National Poll.
