Following a little holiday skid, the Marian Ancilla Men's Basketball team has now won three of four games, defeating Glen Oaks Wednesday night, 79-65. The Chargers are now 13-4 overall, 2-0 in the MCCAA, and they have a chance to better their record this Saturday, if they can stay hot.

The Chargers jumped out to an early lead Wednesday, led 41-26 at the intermission, then extended the lead to as much as 52-32 in the second half. Glen Oaks rallied and narrowed the margin to 61-52. MUAC then stepped up and finished strong to secure the victory.

Freshman Jordan Woods has been key among the guys performing at a high level. The 6-3 guard nearly posted another triple-double Wednesday, scoring 30 points, handing out 10 assists, and collecting 9 rebounds in his strong effort. His night included a 10-10 effort at the charity stripe.

Sophomores Jayden Sanders and Dante Porch were also main contributors. Sanders, a 6-5 forward, posted his sixth double-double of the season, including his third consecutive, scoring 13 points and pulling down 11 boards. Porch, a 6-5 wing, chipped in with 13 points and 6 rebounds, plus he buried a pair of 3-pointers from distance.

The Men's Basketball team now hosts the Lansing Stars this Saturday as part of a double-header with the Women's team. The games will be held at the LifePlex in Plymouth, with the Women's game starting at 1:00 p.m. and the Men's game tipping at approximately 3:00 p.m. Please come out and support the Chargers, if you are able!!
