
FULTON, Miss. – The Indians scored plenty on Tuesday afternoon, lifting them to a 8-3 win over Holmes at the ICC Soccer Complex.
ICC struck first when Ronaldo Serna (Olive Branch) shot it into the net with 17:58 left in the first half. A few minutes later, Will Barber (Kent, England) put the Indians up 2-0 going into the break. After halftime, Luke Dearsley (Sydney, Australia) found the net on an unassisted goal followed by Barber picking up his second goal to make 4-0 in favor of the Indians.
The Bulldogs got on the board on a penalty kick with 26:28 to play, then the Indians answered when Dearsley found his second goal of the contest on a free kick with 26:08 left to play.
The Indians got three more goals from Frank Rodriguez (Fulton), Leander Breidenbruecker (Bizau, Austria) and Brice Nunnery (Clinton). The Bulldogs added two quick goals in the closing minutes of the match, marking the final score, 8-3.
ICC had 14 shots on goal with Elijah Belk (Oxford) leading with four while Dearsley, Barber and Niclas Schuzle (Hoersholm, Denmark) each added two. William Blake (Fulton) recorded two saves in the victory.
Next up, the Indians will host No. 5 Gulf Coast in a 3 p.m. match at the ICC Soccer Complex on Friday, Oct. 4.
