The Hudson Valley women's basketball team defeated Herkimer at home on Tuesday night.
The Vikings came out hot in the first quarter, outscoring the Generals 20-11. The Generals fought back to tie the game at halftime. The game stayed close until the last minutes of the 4th quarter when the Vikings pulled away and won the game.
Leading the way for the Vikings was Stylianna Mantzouris with 22 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Leah Pergola had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Pergola also had 4 steals and 1 assist. Myanna Faraj had 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals for the Vikings. Abigayle Yetto ran the court as point guard and was a huge defensive threat with 8 rebounds and 6 steals. Yetto also recorded 5 assists and 4 points.
The Vikings return home on Thursday, February 6th as they face North Country. Their game is at 7pm following the men's game at 5pm.
