
The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team lost both games to McCook Community College with scores of 8-1 and 9-5. This makes it back-to-back years that the Blue Devils have lost both their opening series.
In the first game, the Blue Devils were only able to get three hits and get on base five times. Victoria England recorded two of the three hits along with her first collegiate triple and RBI. Ashton Russell had the only other hit and would end up scoring from the England triple.
Alyssa Droge threw for 2.2 innings while allowing six hits, six runs and struck out four batters. Kinlei Boley came in and finished the final 4.1 innings allowing four hits, two runs while striking out three batters and walking one.
In game two, the offense woke up and recorded nine hits. Sydney Becker had four of the nine hits for KCKCC, had one RBI and scored one run. Becker also had her first double of the season. Both Grace Rothwell and Isabelle Dufva also recorded doubles and combined for three RBIs.
Hanna Acree threw for the first four innings and let in eight runs from the nine Indian hits. The Indians were also able to take Acree over the fence two different times. Alyssa Droge came in for the final three innings and let in one run from four hits.
